I think that the image that you have used for the cover story is good. It shows the same person in the same outfit, and continues the look that he had on the front cover. However, I don't think that the article description should overlap the picture. Maybe change it so that the writing sits next to the picture rather than going over it.
I think that your article descriptions are good; they let the reader know just enough about the article for them to want to read it, and the fact that you have put the artist names in bold helps first-time readers know who the artist is.
However, I think that the article "Still getting paid" should not have its description so close to the image above; it looks squashed. Also, this article description doesn't need to go over two lines; 'taking over the scene with his' should be on the same line as the second half of 'continues'.
Another thing that I don't think works is the fact that some of your features are close together and some are further apart. I think that there should be a regular gap between article descriptions.
Finally, the other two images look like they have been taken off of the Internet. Are these images primary?
